Meet the team at Fox Hollow
Leanne Thomey - Director
Hello my name is Leanne Thomey. I have a degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria and an Early Childhood Administrators Certificate from Mount St. Vincent University. I have worked in the field since 2000 and over 8 of those years have been with Fox Hollow. I have been a pre-school teacher, an after-school teacher, a family home consultant and now the Owner/Director of Fox Hollow. I have 4 teenage boys, and it has always been my dream to own my own centre and it’s a privilege to be able to work with the staff and families of Fox Hollow. I truly believe we have a uniqueness that sets us apart.
Trudy Peters - Assistant Director & Junior Pre-school Teacher
Hello my name is Trudy Peters, I live in Bedford with my adult son and our cat. I graduated from Nova Scotia Teachers College in 1987 with a level 4 Diploma in Early Childhood Education and I have worked in the child care field ever since. I have worked at Fox Hollow for the past 9 years as the Assistant Director as well as working in all of the classrooms, however I am currently in the toddler room. When I am not working I love nothing more than reading, going to the movies or searching for treasures at thrift stores and flea markets.
Claire McGean - Junior Pre-school Teacher
My name is Claire McGean. I have lived in Tantallon for the past 35 years with my husband Jim, we have six children, four beautiful grandchildren, two very rambunctious Labradors and one crazy cat. I have worked with children for most of the last 35 years. Previous to working at Fox Hollow I ran my own home daycare for children from ages 6 months to 12 years. I have worked at Fox Hollow for 11 years, getting to know the children and their families in the toddler, pre-school, and school-age programs. It was during this time that I received my level 1 classification. When not at work my interests vary from gardening to spending as much time as possible with my grandchildren. I also enjoy watching football and hockey games, playing the piano, knitting and baking.

In my spare time, I volunteer at a radio station in Eastern Passage, Seaside FM, as a news broadcaster and Saturday morning co-host.I live in Boutilier’s Point with my partner, Donny. I have two grown children and 2 rescue dogs…Theodore, a Pug, and Flocon, a sassy Maltese. We spend a lot of time in the outdoors…fishing, camping, and exploring.
Nikki Robb – Pre-school Teacher
Hello my name is Nikki Robb, I am a level two Early Childhood Educator, I studied and received my education at Nova Scotia College for Early Childhood Education in the spring of 2017. I am a local girl, growing up in this very subdivision of Fox Hollow that I sill call my home today. I enjoy spending my free time getting closer to nature, taking trips to the ocean and forest – no matter what time of year it is. I am an avid hobbyist photographer and landscape photography is what I enjoy the most, practicing this as much as I can on hikes I take with my friends and family. I have a passion for teaching and enjoy using art and music in my practice, as well as open ended exploration. I am fortunate that I have experience working with all age groups and am very excited about working at Fox Hollow.
