Whats new at Fox Hollow
Fox Hollow photographs in print
We are delighted to share with you the news that some photographs of Fox Hollow and our learning programmes have been chosen to be used in two printed text documents. The documents, scheduled for release January 2018, are being produced by Pearson Canada for Okanagan College, Kelowna, BC.
It really is fantastic to see just how our programmes and commitment to learning is being seen by others.
We will keep you posted on how this goes.
Claire & Trudy win award!
We could not be more delighted to announce that two of our very own members of staff, Trudy Peters and Claire McGean, were recently awareded ‘The Early Childhood Learning and Care (ECLC) Award of Excellence for Practice.’
This Program honours the accomplishments and dedication of exceptional early childhood learning and care practitioners and programs.
An award that is given to a child care practitioner (centre: ECE & Administrator; family home care provider) working in the Nova Scotia child care sector who consistently demonstrates best practices in their care of young children and an outstanding dedication to the children they care for and to the early childhood learning and care field.
I am sure everyone who knows both Claire and Trudy, can easily see why this award was given to them, and we at Fox Hollow could not be more proud. Thank you both for all your continued hard work and complete dedication to the education and advancements of our children – WELL DONE!
HiMama – Parent Introduction
Following a sucessful three month trial, we have decided to keep and fully implement the HiMama Parent app.
It has always been our commitment to the children that we will devote as much time to their learning, and experiences as possible, sometimes with the required amount of paperwork we have to produce it puts that commitment into an uneasy balance; added to which we also come to question the amount of paper and ink that we use. Now with the help of this program it will allow us to streamline attendance and daily records, cut down on what we use and give parents the chance to see for themselves the daily activities that the children are participating in. It also allows each parent to add their own cell number to their child’s profile to receive storm alert and closure messages.
The program is designed to compliment face to face communication but will never be used to replace our daily interactions with our parents or indeed the children’s portfolios we produce.
The App can be downloaded onto any smartphone or tablet and each parent will receive their own email with personal access code details.
